oritiatoma
oritiatoma is a collective noun describing a group of words that are used as the opening phrase of a sentence that is followed by a series of pipelined words or phrases to create “spun content”.
Its modern day revival is attributed to the collaborative efforts of some members of Society11*.
In the autumn of 2022 some Members of the Society were discussing the use of software to spin text. In order to provide examples for discussion they turned to an online “ipsum lorem” generator. One of the sentences it created was:-
“Ongoing research indicates that iterative approaches to online marketing strategies fosters collaborative thinking to further the overall value proposition.“
It is not entirely clear who first identified the acronym formed by the opening 9 words. (The Society’s rules mean we may never know for sure)……..
O-R-I-T-I-A-T-O-M-A
Some the Society’s inner workings are made public after internal agreement is reached. A redacted version of the discussion has been released:-
“Ongoing research indicates that iterative approaches to online marketing strategies fosters collaborative thinking to further the overall value proposition……..
ORITIATOMA
Each of us did some stuff online each week. We’d chat about it each Wednesday and Friday. We’d learn from each other. All of us ended up producing better quality stuff.
1. Do stuff online.
2. Chat about it.
3. Rinse and repeat.”
There is some speculation as to whether there are links to ancient Greek and the word “οριτιατομα”. Discussions with GIM Group (Greek Internet Marketing) counterparts are understood to be ongoing.
Thank you for your time.
